The woman once regarded as ‘the world’s hairiest girl’ has grown up, married, and shined after shaving.

A girl who had been called “wolf girl” and “monkey face” by her friends knew that her condition wouldn’t stop her from being happy. At some point, she met the love of her life, and her story shows how much that changed her life.

Something big happened in Saptra’s family on August 5, 1999. Parents are usually very happy and excited when their child is born. That’s how SŅpatra’s parents, Sompon and Samrerng, felt when she was born.

But their joy was mixed with shock, fear, and doubt when the doctor told them their baby had a lot of hair. They thought it was normal at first, but when they saw her in the front, they were shocked by how much hair she had. There was hair on almost every part of SŲpatra’s body. Not even the doctors in Thailand had seen anyone like her before.

In the end, doctors found that Natty had Ambras syndrome, which is a very rare skin disease. So few people have this condition that only fifty cases like hers have been recorded in the world since a long time ago.

When Natty was born, her mom wanted to leave the hospital, but the doctors wouldn’t let her because they were afraid she would leave her child behind. The doctor was told that Sompon would never leave her child, no matter what. “We’re lucky that she was born into our family,” she said.

Even though Natty grew up in a loving home, not everyone understood her condition. She had to deal with kindness from both strangers and her peers.

Because Natty has the rare Ambras syndrome, her thick hair kept her face hidden as she grew up. Her hair growth couldn’t be slowed down by regular means like laser removal. She was made fun of at school because of the way she looked. Her friends called her “wolf girl” and “monkey face.”

But Natty didn’t get why they were making fun of her; she thought she was just a normal girl with a little more hair. “That’s just how I am,” she said.

KŠljira Posaeng, Natty’s teacher, said that other kids were scared of her at first, which made her first few days of school hard. But Natty showed over time that she was just like any other student. Her teachers said she worked hard and got good grades. Eventually, she became one of the most popular kids in her class.

The girls who taught Natty said she was a lively girl who loved to sing, dance, and play. Without ever making her feel less important, her parents dealt with her like any other child. They didn’t feel bad about the fact that she looked different from other kids because they took her everywhere.

No changes were made to Natty’s condition because she knows there’s no cure for it. She chose to leave her body hair the way it had grown since she was born. When she was a teenager, she started shaving her face. Her sense of self-worth and appearance grew more important to her as she aged, and she also fell in love.

“It started as a friendship, and then it turned into a relationship,” she said. She was happy when they talked, and it was nice to be with them. She felt a kind of love she hadn’t expected: “It was a kind of love I didn’t expect would happen to me.”

She also shared pictures of herself with her boyfriend that showed her face without any facial hair. Some people thought she might have been crazy, but her dad told them she had chosen to shave her face to show off her new look. Her forehead is now hidden by her hair, but you can see her eyes, face, mouth, cheeks, and moth.

Now that Natty has found love and happiness, she is determined to live a good life and keep making the world a better place. She thinks that everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way, and she wants to encourage others to love who they are and show off their inner beauty.

Before you leave, read another piece where a woman tells her story to show that body hair shouldn’t be judged and to stress how important it is to accept oneself and one’s uniqueness.
