Residing in Cedar Hill, Texas, the Rojas family comprises 10-year-old Xavier, 8-year-old twins Kaydence and Zayden, and toddler Evra, on the verge of turning 2.
Forgoing a traditional baby shower, they opted for a birth photographer to capture the momentous occasion. Despite thorough prenatal care and ultrasounds revealing no issues, they chose to keep the baby’s gender a surprise, adding an element of anticipation to their already bustling family of two boys and two girls, though speculations leaned towards another boy.
When labor commenced around 2 a.m., roughly a week before the due date, the Rojas family rallied into the car to be together at the birthing center Amber had previously utilized. Although Amber experienced a temporary stall in contractions upon arrival, they intensified rapidly as she paced outside. “It was like this thing came over me, and I could not help it, my body was pushing the baby out,” she recounted. “And next thing I knew she was out and in my arms.”
As Amber lifted her newborn, Amadeus Reign Rojas, from the water, she immediately recognized the telltale signs of Down syndrome in her daughter’s face. Despite this revelation, she was elated to discover that Ami was also a girl, feeling grateful that her last baby had a sister to grow up alongside.
